Plot

Dramatic monologue by Changez, a young Pakistani Princeton graduate and Wall Street analyst at Underwood Samson, addressed to a silent American stranger in a Lahore café. Charts his romance with Erica, his complex reaction to 9/11 (he admits to smiling), and his disillusionment with American imperialism. He returns to Pakistan as university lecturer and political activist.
